The Hole Experience
Hole 14 is one of the stronger par 4s on the inward nine. It asks for a drive that is not just long enough, but properly placed. The fairway and surrounding trouble reward players who can visualise their shot before they hit it.
From the tee, choose a line that gives the widest margin while still leaving a realistic angle into the green. This is not the hole to chase maximum distance without considering the next shot. The best players will be thinking one swing ahead.
The approach can be demanding, especially if the pin is set near trouble or the wind is working across the green. Play to the safe side when necessary. A controlled par here feels excellent, and even a composed bogey will not hurt badly. The key is avoiding the big number.
