The Hole Experience
Hole 17 may be rated the easiest hole, but no hole at Natadola Bay should be played carelessly. This is a chance to score, particularly if the wind is helping, but it still requires three good decisions.
From the tee, the objective is to get the ball in play and give yourself a useful second shot. Longer hitters may be able to push towards the green or leave a short pitch, but only if the tee shot is in the right position. For most golfers, the best plan is to advance the ball sensibly and leave a comfortable approach.
Do not let the handicap ranking make you impatient. A birdie chance here is built through rhythm, not force. If you are protecting a good round, play it methodically. If you are chasing a score, this is one of the better places to do it, but only with a clear head.
