The Hole Experience
Hole 2 continues the early examination and gives very little away. It is the type of par 4 that rewards a player who understands that not every good drive needs to be hit at full power. The fairway asks for a thoughtful line, and the approach becomes far easier if your tee shot finishes on the correct side.
The smart play is to choose a club you can control and commit to a shape that keeps the ball in play. Into the wind, this hole can feel longer than expected, especially from the back tees. Do not be surprised if the second shot plays a little more demanding than the yardage suggests.
For the approach, favour the safer portion of the green and avoid getting greedy with a tucked pin. This is still early in the round, and a well-managed par here is worth far more than a reckless attempt at birdie. Play this hole with respect and it will reward discipline.
