The Hole Experience
Hole 7 is a classic example of a par 3 that should never be judged only by its length. From the tee, the target can look comfortable, but the wind, elevation and green surrounds mean a slight misjudgement can leave a testing recovery.
Club selection is the first challenge. Take time to feel the breeze and decide whether the shot needs to be flighted, held up or played with a little extra club. Many players will come up short here because the hole appears more manageable than it is.
The safest play is usually to the heart of the green. A good two-putt par is a fine result and keeps momentum moving. If the pin is accessible, a confident shot can create a birdie chance, but forcing the ball towards a tight flag is rarely worth the risk. Smooth tempo and a clear target are the keys.
