The Hole Experience
Hole 11 is a substantial par 5 and one of the more strategic holes on the inward nine. From the back tees, it has enough length to test even confident drivers of the ball. The first task is to find a fairway position that gives you a clean second shot.
The decision on the second shot is important. Strong players may see an opportunity to push the ball well down the hole, but the safer and often smarter choice is to lay up to a preferred distance. A good lay-up is not a defensive shot. It is a scoring shot when played with intention.
On the approach, take enough club and give yourself room. The green can make distance control feel more demanding, particularly if the wind is into you. Par is always respectable here. Birdie is there for the player who keeps the ball in play and manages the hole with maturity.
